Spain's Caruana at the IIF Spring Meeting

In a speech given on 1 April Jaime Caruana of the Bank of Spain defended the European Commission's efforts to remove internal barriers to consolidation in the continent's financial sector.

Speaking at a meeting of the Institute of International Finance, Caruana said: "I support all the steps the commission is taking to remove internal barriers and restrictions in pursuit of a truly single market".
