Fed's Braunstein on fair lending

Sandra F. Braunstein, director of the division of consumer and community affairs of the US Federal Reserve Board, gave testimony on fair lending and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act on 25 July.

"It is widely known that there are racial and ethnic gaps in the availability and price of mortgage credit," she said.

"These gaps have been highlighted by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data, including pricing data required by the Board's regulation."

Braunstein said the Federal Reserve shared
