Cautious Fukui on rates outlook

Toshihiko Fukui, the governor of the Bank of Japan, said that the central bank "will proceed with gradual rate hikes" in this speech, given on 27 August.

Speaking at a meeting with business leaders in Osaka, Fukui said "the idea behind [further tightening] is to nurture sustained growth, not to hurt it," Fukui said, adding that the central bank will "support the economy from the monetary side."

Fukui also warned Japan's banks that they "will need to employ the advanced risk management techniques
