In the speech 'Monetary Policy during Economic Shocks: Lessons Learned' given on 26 August Sheryl Kennedy of the Bank of Canada discussed three periods over the past decade when Canada's economy was hit by major shocks. From her perspective she examines the lessons that the Bank of Canada learned from those episodes, with respect to credibility, the exchange rate, and communications.
