China must be more responsible on yuan: Trichet
It is essential that China assumes the global responsibilities that accompany its growing economic clout, says Jean-Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank (ECB).
Speaking in Frankfurt on Thursday, Trichet said that he and other developed economy finance ministers had agreed in October that China should accelerate the appreciation of the yuan.
He added that further improving its exchange rate regime is first and foremost in China's own best interest because of its rising
