Greenspan on the state of the banking industry

In a speech on 'The state of the banking industry' given on 20 April, Alan Greenspan of the Federal Reserve said that the United States banking system is in good shape to deal with rising interest rates and inflationary pressures will be reasonably well contained.

"In general, the industry is adequately managing interest-rate exposure," Greenspan said in prepared testimony to the Senate Banking Committee, which was holding a hearing on the state of the banking industry.
