Dodge expects growth to strengthen at end of 2003

In his opening statement following the release of the Monetary Policy Report Update David Dodge of the Bank of Canada said factors supporting a recovery in growth toward the end of 2003 include the unwinding of the adverse effects of SARS and BSE, the expected rebound of the U.S. economy and the much-improved tone in capital markets.
