Canada's Dodge urges fast yuan float

Bank of Canada Governor David Dodge on Thursday 9 June urged China to move to a floating exchange rate system as soon as possible .

"We at the Bank of Canada...think a floating exchange rate is the best way for adjustment to take place," he said on Thursday when asked about China's foreign exchange policy at a Canadian embassy event in Tokyo.

"We think they should move as quickly as possible, which doesn't mean overnight."
