SPEECH - Speech by Ernst Welteke, President of the Bundesbank. In the speech titled 'Germany as a Financial Centre - European Perspectives for Japanese Markets' Welteke said that the introduction of the euro will not change the overall economic situation in Europe and that its impact on the overall economy will be minimal.

The speech was made at the Japanese Bankers Association Finanzplatz-Dinner in Tokyo, 29 November.
