IMF praises Central Bank of Kuwait’s ‘proactive’ approach

Central bank could publish information on oil sector

The Central Bank of Kuwait has maintained stability in the country though its "proactive" approach to liquidity management and macro-prudential supervision, the IMF said yesterday in its Article IV report on the Gulf state.

"The central bank is ensuring that current liquidity conditions are supportive of credit demand, and monetary operations continue to focus primarily on absorption of surplus liquidity through conventional and Islamic instruments," the IMF said.
