Riksbank economist warns on corporate bond market

Swedish central bank publishes ‘economic commentary’ on the market

As the Swedish market for corporate bonds expands it will become "increasingly important" to consider its impact on financial stability, according to a piece of ‘economic commentary' published by Sveriges Riksbank on October 15.

Fredrik Bonthron, an economist within the central bank's financial stability department, notes the market is growing in terms of both the outstanding volumes and number of issuers. At the same time, he says, the share of bonds with a lower credit rating – or no credit
