Volcker rule spillover effects benefited Europe and Asia: IMF paper

An International Monetary Fund paper, published on Monday, says the announcement of the Volcker rule in the US led to a marginal increase in bank share prices abroad.

Tamim Bayoumi and Trung Bui, the paper authors, investigate how event analysis using daily financial market data can provide insight into the impact of recent and likely future US policies.
