BoE forecasts at odds with public view: BIS paper

A Bank for International Settlements paper, published on Wednesday, finds a large divergence in views on the perceived levels of inflation between the Bank of England's rate-setting committee and the public.

Richhild Moessner, Feng Zhu and Colin Ellis, the paper's authors, compare the inflation forecasts of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) with those of UK consumer surveys from 2001 to 2007 to examine the level of disagreement in inflation forecasts between the central bank
