IMF on transparency and supervision in Africa

The IMF has published a new country report that looks at monetary and financial policy transparency in central Africa.

The report highlights inadequate cash management practices by governments and weaknesses in the monetary policy framework that limit the ability of the Bank of Central African States to manage liquidity, exacerbating financial sector vulnerabilities. The efficiency of supervision was found to suffer from limited institutional independence of the Central African Banking Commission
