Fed on hedge funds resilience

The hedge fund industry is generally robust in the face of different market shocks, finds a new paper from the Federal Reserve.

The paper examines the relationship between financial market conditions and the likelihood of hedge fund failure by using both data on individual funds and industry aggregates.

The authors find that market returns and volatility do influence fund failures, however, the impact depends on the funds' investment strategies.
