Federal Reserve Board - Beige Book, March 2005

The Federal Reserve published its March 2005 Beige Book survey on Wednesday 9 March. The report said steady consumer spending and continued factory output boosted the US economy in February.

"All twelve districts indicated that economic activity has increased," the Fed said.

Labor markets across the country "have been steady to stronger" since the last report in January. There were scattered reports of skilled labor shortages in many regions.

The report gave a mixed reading on inflation.
