Core inflation reporting and analysis should be included in the Bank of Albania's periodical reports on monetary policy, a paper from the central bank finds.

The research also shows that the most appropriate core inflation measure, which also allows for headline-inflation forecasting, is one that permanently excludes some items from the basket. The research finds that such a model delivers a high degree of transparency and better understanding by the public.
