Estonia's case for euro membership
Sir, Estonia is a prime candidate to join the euro. You report ("Brussels tells new members not to rush into the currency system", October 10) on comments by Pedro Solbes, the European Union's monetary affairs commissioner, that the 10 countries that are set to join the EU in 2004 need to make fundamental economic reforms before joining the euro. These 10 countries comprise eight eastern European countries, between them
