Comment: Riksbank to turn the tide

Incoming Riksbank governor, Stefan Ingves, faces a challenge that few, if any, central bank governors have yet had to confront: making the case for a rate hike at a time when inflation is still below the inflation-targetting central bank's tolerance range.

COMMENT BY CENTRALBANKNEWS

In December CPI inflation stood at 0.9%, still well below the Riksbank's official target of 2% and outside the tolerance range of 1% around that target. Inflation has, in fact, consistently fallen below 2% since 2003
