RBI advisers supported rate cut, minutes show

Six of seven members recommended a rate cut

Most members of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) technical advisory committee recommended the central bank cut rates at its last policy decision, the minutes of the meeting show.

Published on October 21, the minutes of the September 23 meeting showed six of the seven members recommending a rate cut of some form. Two members suggested a 50 basis point cut, one suggested between 25bp and 50bp, and three others recommended cuts of 25bp. One favoured a rate hold. Ultimately, the RBI cut rates 50
