BoE statistics indicate gradual lending improvement

Statistics published today by the Bank of England show that lending components targeted by the central bank's funding for lending scheme (FLS) continued to display slight improvements in March.

The FLS scheme aims to encourage banks to lend more, and measures its success based on household lending, which includes lending to individuals, some unincorporated businesses and non-profit organisations, and lending to private non-financial corporations.
