ECB – Euro Area Bank Lending Survey (April 2011)

Banks in the euro area tightened their credit standards in the first quarter of 2011 on loans to both non-financial corporations and households, the European Central Bank (ECB) euro area bank lending survey, published on Wednesday, said.

The survey, conducted between March 14 and March 31, on a sample of 124 euro area banks, said euro area banks reported a slight overall tightening of their credit standards on loans to non-financial corporations in the first quarter of 2011. It said  4% of banks
