Bank of England – Trends in Lending (April 2011)
Lending to UK businesses contracted in the three months to February, in particular the stock of loans to small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs), the Bank of England's Trends in Lending report, published on Thursday, said.
The report, which is based on data up to February 2011 and intelligence gathered up to end-March 2011, said the stock of lending to businesses by all UK-resident banks and building societies contracted by around £5 billion ($8.25 billion), with net lending to businesses £2
