MAS: capital inflows pose serious risks to emerging markets

The Monetary Authority of Singapore's Financial Stability Review for 2010, published on Thursday, said substantial capital inflows driven by accommodative monetary policies in the United States, Japan and the euro area were creating inflationary pressures in emerging market economies.

The report said the strong rebound in emerging economies and search for yield among domestic and foreign investors with a growing risk appetite had created an abundance of liquidity in Asian countries. The MAS
