Bank finds signs of green shoots in business lending

The Bank of England's October 2010 Trends in Lending report, published on Thursday, showed an improvement in the net flow of lending to the business and mortgage sector in August.

Official data covering the lending of all UK-resident banks and building societies indicated that the stock of lending to businesses increased by £300m ($472m) in August, the first positive figure since February 2010. However, the data showed this rise was short lived, with major UK banks reporting weaker net lending
