Bank minutes show Posen votes for more QE
Minutes of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on 6 and 7 October, published Wednesday, showed Adam Posen, an external member, called for the Bank's asset purchase programme to be expanded.
Posen cast the lone vote to increase the size of the Bank's asset purchase programme by £50 billion ($78 billion) to a total of £250 billion. He also voted to maintain the bank rate at 0.5%. Andrew Sentance, another external member, also dissented, voting to increase interest rates
