RBI: external debts in India rising

The Reserve Bank of India's October Monthly Bulletin, published on 12 October, included a report that showed India's external debt increased by 4.1% over the second quarter of 2010.

The report said India's external debt, as at end-June 2010, increased by $10.8 billion, or 4.1%, to $273.1 billion over the level at end-March 2010. It said the increase in external debts, which are made up of multilateral, bilateral and IMF agreements along with commercial debts, came on account of significant
