Central Bank of Sri Lanka – Annual Report (2009)

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka said in its Annual Report 2009, published in May, that it was able to lower rates after experiencing a sharp deceleration in inflation last year.

Annualised inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumers' Price Index (CCPI), declined sharply to 4.8% by end of 2009, from 28.2% in June 2008, the lowest since 1985.
