National Bank of Slovakia – Annual Report (2009)

Slovakia's entry into the European currency zone and a common monetary policy framework brought many benefits to the country, Jozef Makúch, the governor of the National Bank of Slovakia, said in his foreword to the central bank's Annual Report.

The report, published on Tuesday, showed that the Slovak economy had not been hit by regional turbulence. The risk of a banking sector liquidity shortage declined in 2009, and the country's government and businesses alike have seen a fall in their costs
