Bank of Israel – Third Quarter Inflation Report 2009

A faster than expected resumption of economic growth caused the rate of inflation to creep upwards leading the consumer price index to gain 1.3% in the third quarter of 2009, the Bank of Israel's quarterly Inflation Report showed.

The increase in inflation, at an annualised rate of 5.2%, has nevertheless slowed when compared to the previous quarter, which saw a growth of 9% at annual rates.

The report noted that sharp price hikes were largely the result of "non-recurring government policy
