RBA Statement on Monetary Policy, November 2006

The Reserve Bank of Australia published its November 2006 Statement on Monetary Policy on 13 November. In the report the RBA said it expects inflationary pressures to remain in the economy although it expects its monetary policy to counteract such pressures.

In its quarterly statement the RBA said looking ahead, its assessment is that domestic demand can be expected to record moderate growth over the next year or two.

The RBA said it sees continued expansion in consumer spending, a noticeable
