Central Bank of Iceland - Monetary Bulletin

In view of the uncertainty related to the global financial crisis, the Central Bank of Iceland's latest Monetary Bulletin has noted that capital controls must be removed cautiously.

The report notes that as long as there was substantial uncertainty about the country's external debt, the status of public-sector finances, and the restructuring of the financial system, capital controls would remain a prerequisite for significant easing of monetary policy.
