ECB on why the risks to inflation have risen

The European Central Bank's (ECB) latest Monthly Report outlines why the upside risks to inflation have risen further over the past month.

Jean-Claude Trichet, the president of the ECB, shocked markets last week when he hinted that the central bank would raise rates next month. The report shows why the central bank is considering a rate hike by detailing the economic and monetary analysis that indicates inflationary pressures could soon spiral.
