ECB will stay in asset markets - Draghi
Asset purchases to continue, but at a lower monthly rate
Mario Draghi has revealed the European Central Bank is to cut its monthly asset purchases by a quarter, but stressed these may continue beyond December 2017.
Announcing the latest monetary policy decision in Frankfurt today (November 8), Draghi said the ECB will continue its asset purchase programme (APP) for a further nine months, extending it from March until December 2017. But purchases will continue at a monthly rate of €60 billion rather than the current €80 billion, he said.
