Largest banks meet Basel III capital standards – BIS and EBA

The world's largest banks all met the minimum Basel III standards for holding the safest type of risk-weighted capital as at December 2015, according to reports by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and the European Banking Authority (EBA).

The two organisations simultaneously published the results of their latest monitoring of banks' compliance with Basel III standards yesterday (September 13). The BIS report is based on data from 100 internationally active "Group 1" banks, defined as
