IMF's responses to self-evaluation report broadly accepted

The International Monetary Fund's response to recommendations on self-evaluation has been "very positive", according to an official at its internal watchdog. It is not implementing all the suggested changes, however.

The Independent Evaluation Office was set up in 2001. It operates independently of the IMF's management and at "arm's length" from its executive board.

The office made four main recommendations to enhance the fund's approach to self-evaluation, proposing it set out "more explicitly"
