Annual inflation in Argentina at 40.3% by year-end, markets say
Results published in new expectations survey, relaunched after the central bank studied examples from abroad
The Central Bank of Argentina has relaunched its market expectations survey, after ceasing publication in 2012. The first results, published on July 4, show participants believe annual inflation will reach 40.3% by the end of the year.
They expect it to fall further in the coming years, to 19% at the end of 2017 and 15.7% at the end of 2018. This month, data was collected from 46 out of 52 eligible institutions.
Argentina's statistical agency is yet to publish an estimate for annual inflation
