World needs global co-ordination of fiscal expansion, ECB president says

Central bankers must improve the "alignment" of their policies across national borders, Mario Draghi said in Portugal today (June 28). Governments and international economic bodies also needed to do more to co-ordinate global fiscal expansion, the president of the European Central Bank (ECB) said.

Two types of factors were significant for the global low-inflation environment, Draghi told the ECB's forum on central banking. There were cyclical factors, like the recent slowdown in emerging markets
