Canadian university to establish central banking chair
Western University, in Ontario, to create post following donation from Jarislowsky Foundation
A Canadian university will establish a chair in central banking after receiving a donation of C$2 million ($1.55 million) from the Jarislowsky Foundation, with a view to encouraging "excellence in teaching, mentorship and research in the field".
Western University, based in Ontario, announced the creation of the Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in Central Banking on May 9. The institution will match the donation, taking the total funding for the post to C$4 million.
