Barbados central bank hires consultant to boost happiness

Leamon Group is brought in to improve happiness levels; governor Worrell draws a link between this and “exceptional performance”

The Central Bank of Barbados has hired a consultant from Leamon Group to help train its management team to foster "happiness" among its employees.

DeLisle Worrell was appointed governor in 2009. He took the job with the aim of heading a "happy organisation", he told a leadership conference for the bank's managers on May 9. "I have to admit that we have not made the progress I had expected by this time."

Worrell explained it was important for staff to recognise the difference between "normal"
