Mario Draghi says easing policies are working but need time to bring about recovery

Mario Draghi warned today (April 21) that politicians' criticisms of European Central Bank (ECB) policy could delay economic recovery in the eurozone.

The bank "has a mandate for price stability for the whole eurozone and not just Germany", the ECB president told a press conference in Frankfurt, as the governing council kept policy on hold.

ECB policy was working, Draghi argued, but it needed time before it could bring about a recovery. Eurozone inflation might turn negative again in the next
