Bulgaria launches asset quality review and stress tests

Central bank’s ‘comprehensive assessment’ follows 2014 banking scandal

Bulgaria's central bank will conduct an asset quality review (AQR) of the country's commercial banks, it announced on February 12, in a statement later translated into English.

The Bulgarian National Bank will conduct the AQR itself, with professional services firm Deloitte acting "as external independent consultant".
