IMF staff call for clarity on Morocco macro-prudential body

Inter-agency committee chaired by central bank governor

The powers, instruments and voting arrangements of Morocco's macro-prudential policy committee "need to be clarified", according to staff at the International Monetary Fund.

A wide-ranging banking law adopted in November 2014 established the Systemic Risk Surveillance and Coordination Committee, chaired by Central Bank of Morocco governor Abdellatif Jouahri.

The committee, comprising bank, capital markets, and pension and insurance fund supervisors, as well as the ministry of economy and finance
