State Bank of Pakistan reveals first MPC members
One committee seat still unfilled
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) revealed on January 26 who will sit on its new monetary policy committee (MPC), although one vacancy remains.
The committee, which will take over responsibility for setting monetary policy, will meet for the first time on January 30. Besides governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra, it will comprise three members from the SBP's central board, chosen by the board itself, three external members appointed by the government and three named by Wathra.
Nine of the ten members
