UK authorities extend Funding for Lending Scheme again

Bank funding scheme will now be tapered over two years

Banks will have a further two years to use their allowances under the Bank of England's (BoE) Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS), as the BoE and UK treasury today (November 30) unveiled a third extension to the scheme.

The latest extension continues to taper the scheme, which the BoE said was a reflection of the improved credit conditions since its launch in 2012.

The scheme currently offers participating banks access to £5 of BoE funds for every net £1 they increase lending to small and medium
