Colombia reinforces inflation target as it tightens policy
Colombia inflation almost double central bank’s 3% target
The Central Bank of Colombia's board expects inflation to return to its 3% target within two years, after raising its policy rate by 25 basis points to 5.5% on November 27.
Annual inflation rose to 5.9% in October, while the board of directors of the central bank noted inflation expectations "have increased" in the country. Analysts expect inflation to fall, but only to 4.4% after one year and 3.6% after two, it said.
Alongside the interest rate decision, the bank released a second statement
