Irish SME report shows growth in new lending

Annualised gross new lending at highest levels since 2011

Annualised gross new lending to small and medium-sized enterprises has increased "steadily" since early 2014, according to an ‘SME market report' published by the Central Bank of Ireland today (July 9).

The latest edition of the semi-annual report draws on data between December 31 and June 30. Annualised gross new lending is €2.6 billion ($2.87 billion), it finds – the highest it has been since 2011.
