FOMC delivers more upbeat assessment as its keeps policy unchanged

Federal Reserve officials still believe it will be "appropriate" to begin raising the federal funds rate this year, but remain divided over when to start and how high to go, according to their latest projections.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) kept policy unchanged on June 17, but delivered a more upbeat assessment of economic conditions in the US.

The latest ‘dot plots' show 15 of the 17 presidents and governors believe the FOMC will need to raise rates this year, though their range
