Minutes from the Sveriges Riksbank's monetary policy meeting on July 2, released yesterday, reveal a debate between policy-makers over the fitness of institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) to pass judgement on how the bank handles monetary policy. The discussion foreshadowed concerns voiced by Bank of England governor Mark Carney earlier this week that the BIS makes its recommendations "in a vacuum".
