Draghi maps out ECB reaction function
Council would only turn to QE if medium-term inflation outlook worsens
The European Central Bank (ECB) would consider launching a "broad-based asset purchase programme" if the medium-term outlook for inflation deteriorates, according to ECB president Mario Draghi.
Following this month's governing council meeting, Draghi revealed the council was "unanimous" in its commitment to using all of the monetary policy instruments at its disposal – including quantitative easing – to deal with risks to price stability in the eurozone.
Draghi went one step further today
